JUURI transforms bare walls into powerful, Japanese-themed artspaces. This week, she took a few minutes to talk to us about what inspires her and what she thinks about while she’s painting!

We teamed up with photographer Braeden Martel and curated a photography installation centred around those historic, faded ghost murals scattered throughout Sudbury.

We have some heartbreaking news to share. Four days ago, we learned one of our major funding sources—one we’ve successfully received from the Province of Ontario, year after year—was cut, outright.

When we agreed to transform the old St. Joseph’s Hospital into Canada’s largest mural in 2019, we were under the impression the building would be demolished the following year.

Save the date: Up Here returns to downtown Sudbury this summer from August 18 to 20, 2023, and they already have a full lineup of muralists and the first wave of music that’ll be echoing off all those freshly painted walls.

We Live Up Here, a non-profit urban arts organization and the presenter of Up Here urban art and music festival, is absolutely thrilled to announce the hiring of Jaymie Lathem as its first General Manager.

For a while, we’ve been looking for the right spot to put on shows like you’ll see Saturday at Place des Arts—intimate, impressive, and totally captivating performances.
