An update about Up Here 6

Here we are. At this point, it has become increasingly obvious that the best thing we can do is not go ahead with the festival we had originally planned.

Up Here 6 will still happen, just not the way we envisioned it. Up Here always promises the unexpected, but this year, exceptionally, everything is being reimagined.

We may not be able to gather under the Dome, but one thing is for sure — we will still find ways to celebrate, create and make art together while apart.

Over the past few weeks, we’ve talked to our partners, our team of volunteers, and our friends. They want to dream with us.

Whatever we dream up, our reimagined programming will be free because fuck COVID-19. We will be issuing refunds to all passport holders requesting them. You may be tempted to donate the cost of your pass back to Up Here, which we won’t turn down, but we want you to take care of yourselves before you take care of us.

We know that this crisis is impacting many others in our community including artists, venues, crew and more. Within our means, we are committed to doing what we can to keep going in these weird times. We remain hopeful but realistic.

Up Here 6 will be a laboratory, like it always has. We look forward to experimenting with you. We’ll keep you posted.

Stay safe. Keep dancing.
